How to Get Started, 2026-2027
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about our band program. The Lake Mary High School Band offers students a place to grow as musicians, performers, and members of a close-knit community. With 45 years of tradition and more than 100 active members, the program has been a cornerstone of Lake Mary High School since its founding.
The information below will walk you through our ensembles, audition requirements, and the key events between now and the start of the school year. Please let me know if you have any questions about any aspect of our program. We look forward to welcoming your student into the Lake Mary Band Family.

All students enrolled in band participate in the marching band.
Band is a co-curricular course, meaning after-school rehearsals and performances count toward a student's grade.
Enrollment in a concert band class is required to participate in Jazz Band, unless the student plays a rhythm section instrument exclusively.
Auditions are not required for Beginning Band, Symphonic Band, or Jazz Combo.
Auditions are required for Wind Ensemble and Jazz Band. Students auditioning for both ensembles only need to schedule one audition slot.
Attendance at Band Camp is required to hold a spot in the marching show. Students who miss camp will begin the season as alternates.
Marching band rehearsals are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with football game commitments on most Fridays.
Concert bands rehearse once per week following the conclusion of marching season.
