The mission of the LMHS Band Program is to provide students with opportunities to develop musical excellence, leadership skills, and community citizenship — fostering collaboration, personal growth, and a lifelong appreciation for music while building pride and unity within our school and community.

We believe that band is more than an extracurricular activity. It is a structured, year-round curriculum that develops discipline, teamwork, and artistic expression alongside the technical skills of musicianship. The habits and values students build here carry well beyond their high school years.

We are committed to making this program accessible to every student, regardless of financial background. No student should be excluded from participation because of cost, and we actively work to provide resources, fundraising opportunities, and assistance to ensure that every student who wants to be part of the LMHS Band family can be.

Our program is built on a simple belief: when students show up, work hard, and support one another, the entire ensemble is stronger for it — and so is each individual musician.
