This Week in Band: 8/10/26
Welcome back to another year at Lake Mary HS! If you are new to the LMHS Band, I send a weekly message/email with the most up-to-date band event information. These emails are typically sent on Sunday or Monday evening for the week. Also, after this week, I will transition to sending this message through SCPS’s preferred mass communication tool, ParentSquare. If you have not configured ParentSquare, please follow this link for instructions. As you will likely be inundated with information this week, I will keep this as concise as possible.

Schedule Info
Band schedules are still pretty messy as of Sunday afternoon. Many students are not in the correct band period. We can get these issues remedied as efficiently as possible if we do the following:
Students follow their schedule in the Skyward app as of Monday morning, as changes often will not show up for 24 hours.
I will be sending a list of changes to Student Services on Monday afternoon.
Your student can fill out the schedule change request by following this link: LMHS Course Request Change Form (students will need to log in to their SCPS account to view the form)
New Students
If your student is new to LMHS and DID NOT attend band camp, please be sure to complete the following items of paperwork:
Band & Color Guard Assessment Payments (via a MySchoolBucks account)
Performance Gear Orders (clothing and materials required for band and color guard)
WE NEED TO PLACE ORDERS FOR THIS GEAR ASAP! (show shirts, shorts, socks, shoes, etc.)
School Instrument Rental Form (primarily for French horn, baritone, tuba, and percussion)
School Instrument Rental Payment (via a MySchoolBucks account)
Instruments
Students will NOT need instruments on Monday, but will need them every day thereafter. Students will be issued lockers this week for the secure storage of their instruments.
Rehearsals
After-school rehearsals DO begin this week! This week’s schedule is as follows:
Tuesday, Aug. 11, 6-8:30PM, Stadium
Leadership Meeting, 5-5:30PM
Thursday, Aug. 13, 2:45-4:30PM, North Practice Field
Students will need to wear a red shirt, black shorts, and black shoes and socks to these rehearsals. The requirement for this attire will be a bit relaxed until the performance gear/Rookie packages are delivered.

We will not be participating in the Kickoff Classic this Thursday.
