Band Orientation Night!

This is just a quick reminder and preparation email for tonight’s Band Orientation meeting. To review:

• Band Orientation: Tuesday, July 14, 6-8PM, LMHS Auditorium

Tonight’s event serves 3 primary purposes:

1. To inform members and families of policies, procedures, and events, ESPECIALLY surrounding the upcoming Band Camp events,

2. To collect important paperwork necessary to begin the band season, and

3. To establish the first clear count of people for the writing of the halftime show.

This meeting is especially helpful to those who are new to the Lake Mary Band, but returning students do enjoy it as a time to see friends again and to start getting back into the musical mindset of the season.

One way we are trying to make the “onboarding” process easier for everyone is by moving all paperwork to a digital format. This means that no one has to miss the most important logistical components of the event: the Band Orientation Packet and the ordering of band performance gear.

To make all of this less stressful, I am providing the links below to complete the Band Orientation Packet, the School Instrument Rental Form (if applicable), make the initial payment for Band Assessment Fees, and order band performance gear.

• Band Orientation Packet (includes)

  • Student Information Form

  • SCPS Medical, Travel, & Permission Form

  • Student Uniform Agreement Form

• Band & Color Guard Assessment Fees (required for all members; payment options available in the payment menu)

  • Band & Color Guard Assessment Payment (all assessment payments come with a show shirt)

• School Instrument Rental

  • School Instrument Rental Form (if applicable)

  • School Instrument Rental Payment

• Performance Gear Orders

  • First Year LMHS students (”Rookies”): The Rookie Package (includes all of your performance gear)

  • Returning students: Performance Gear “A La Carte” items (order as needed)

  • Senior Package: Includes senior swag (Student Stadium Banner, Senior Band Shirt, Banquet Ticket, Senior Gift, Misc. Senior perks throughout the year)

WE WILL BE WRITING THE HALFTIME SHOW FOR THOSE STUDENTS WHO HAVE TURNED IN THEIR PAPERWORK BY FRIDAY, JULY 17, 2026. If we do not have your info by this time, you may end up as an alternate for the field show (which is considerably less fun!)

So, to review, I need the following stuff in order to reserve a spot in the show:

• Band Orientation Packet

• Band & Color Guard Assessment Payment

If you need to rent an instrument from the school and want it by the time Band Camp starts, then complete the following:

• School Instrument Rental Form

Finally, in order to have the performance gear you need for the year, complete the appropriate orders below:

• Rookie Package

• Returning Student “A La Carte”  Performance Gear

• Senior Package

If you lose this info or know someone who didn't receive the email, it will also be posted on the LMHS Band website at lakemarybands.org.
